Better Built Homes of Alabama is a full-featured home building platform. Whether you're browsing new homes, managing construction projects, or tracking progress as a contractor, this guide covers everything you need.

Account Registration

Public Registration (Anyone)

Navigate to /register

Fill in your Name, Email, and Password

Complete the security check

Click "Create Account"

Check your email — You'll receive a verification link

Click the link to verify your email address

Then log in with your email and password

> 🔒 Email verification is required. You cannot log in until you verify your email. The verification link expires after 24 hours. If the link expires, request a new one from the login page.

Roles Overview

• Visitor — Browse houses, view public pages
• Member — Save favorites, contact builder, view tour pages
• Contractor — Update construction progress on assigned houses
• Admin — Full access to manage listings, users, content, settings

Logging In

Frontend Login (Next.js App)

• Navigate to /login
• Enter your Email and Password
• Check "Remember Me" to stay logged in
• Click "Sign In"

> First time logging in? Make sure you've verified your email first. If you registered but didn't get the email, check your spam folder or request a new verification link from the login page.

Password Reset

Go to /forgot-password

Enter your registered email

Check your email for a reset link

Click the link and set a new password

Profile Management

Click your name/avatar in the top-right

Select "Profile"

Update your name, phone number, and preferences

Click "Save Changes"
